Question from Newbie - Guild Wars Forums

Hi There

I have been playing for about 4 days now, and I am a Elementalist/Necromancer at level 6.

Can anyone give me tips on what weapons are best for my Char, and what spells etc to get.

The reason i am asking is when i am fighting beasts of a lower level ie lv1,2,3 - it seems to take a long time to kill them, just wondered if i am doing something wrong

What wepond you use really depends on what you find better, staffs, or wands with an off hand item. Remember if your a caster you USUSALLY wont be looking to be doing large amounts of damage with your weapon.
As for choosing between a staff or wand, you have to decided which benefits you more, they both have the same damage potential, however, staffs have more in built upgrades and can have extras put on, but with wands you can use off hand items which can give much better bonuses than staffs.

I am an Elementalist Necromancer. You need to use flare constantly, and when fighting a lot of enemies use aura. I can't really help you much more but all i know is this is the best combo.

Just keep taking better weapons.

As a caster the best thing u can do is get yerself a wand and an off hand so u have more energy also at the begining levels as an E/N bets thing u can do is equip skills like life spyphon, aura of restoration and and any fire skills u may have since they make the most dmg.

What have you done with your attribute points so far?

P.S. My main is a e/n and it is a very fun build to play.

Anyways, you, the noob, can get some descent weapons from trainers... other than that i have nothing else to say. Cause im a ranger. and rangers kick ass.

Just kidding about the noob part. we are all noobs at one time or another. Have fun kicking european ass in HoH

Casters use weapons mainly for the benefits they give. The damage from weapons are minimal. You'll be dealing your damage mainly through the use of skills. The best one to use is Flare. Its casting time and recharging time is short, requires only 5 energy, and deal decent amount of damage.
